Image AUTOMATIC WRITING
Automatic writing is done by a person who is not aware of actually doing the writing. Though "doodling" could be considered a form of automatic writing at times, the practice has been built up into more serious ideas and claims. Psychoanalysists believe that automatic writing is performed by a person' subconscious and can provide valuable information about any problems or "issues" that must be dealt with by a patient. For alternative medicine practitioners, automatic writing is used as therapy although there is no known method to promote automatic writing within an individual. The phenomenon has been used in many horror films such as The Sixth Sense and The Exorcist.
