CONTESTS FOR THE CURIOUS
Sculpture Contest

Whether you live in the Northern Hemisphere or the Southern Hemisphere - no matter what the weather is like, no matter what your surroundings may be, you should all be able to take part in this contest!

What you need to do is create a sculpture of a cryptozoological being along with a story sheet that tells all about him (or her...or it!) Be as imaginative as you like but try to tie it in with a real claim that has been made and provide a skeptical perspective to your story.

Here are some ideas for what you can make your sculpture out of:

snowsnow SNOW!

If it's winter where you are and there's good packing snow outside, put on your boots and mittens and get out there and design a creature out of snow

sandsandSAND!

Going to the beach this summer? Remember to take your sand bucket and shovel and think up a creature that can be made out of sand!

iceiceICE!

This is a tough one, but with a few kitchen utensils you might be able to think up an interesting creature that can be made into an ice sculpture.

hayhayHAY!

Apparently this is quite popular in the prairies - make a creature out of hay!

mudMUD!

Parents might not appreciate this but what else are we supposed to do on rainy days? And who hasn't heard of the great MudMan that used to run through the streets, scaring all of the frogs and getting the carpets dirty!?
Of course, you can think of your own sculpting supplies too! That blah oatmeal we have to eat for breakfast, for instance, or the mashed potatoes that are left over from supper - be creative!
You can send in your work through the mail or via e-mail.
